Carmen F. Bolwerk (Rohm), Appleton, Wisconsin, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 31, 2024. She was born May 10, 1936 in Appleton, Wisconsin, to the late Grant and Doris (Holcomb) Rohm.
Carmen graduated from Appleton High School in 1954. She worked many years at Lawrence University-Athletic Department, and UW-Health/Mosaic-Health. She married Gerald (Jerry) H. Bolwerk on May 3,1955. She was a longtime member of Valley Baptist Church in Appleton. She loved playing cards with friends and family and watching Packer games. She lovingly took care of her husband and family.
Carmen is survived by her: 6 Children: Tom (Mary) Bolwerk, Tim (Mary) Bolwerk, Marsha (John) Hielsberg, Curt (Julie) Bolwerk, Cal (Jackie) Bolwerk, and Gregg (Sue) Bolwerk; 15 Grandchildren: Amanda (Jeremy) Van Dera, Jennifer (Eric) Hobbs, Peter (Victoria) Bolwerk, Nathan Bolwerk, Ben Bolwerk, Sara (Jason) Baxter, Lisa (Andre’) Smith, Josh (Alicia) Steckling, Lindsey (Brandin) Henke , Sam Bolwerk, Bailey (Tom) Tammen, Jacob Bolwerk, Heather (Eitan) Maoz, Brooke and Ryleigh Bolwerk; 14 Great-grandchildren: Elaina and Mila Van Dera, Eloise and Josephine and Eve Hobbs, Cora Bolwerk, Marissa and Jackson Esser, Rheia Steckling, Landon Henke, Drew and Miles Tammen, Kendra and Tucker Maoz; 1 sister: Lori (Jim) Krueger; 5 sisters-in-law: Leah and Nancy Bolwerk, Julie Van Hout, MaryJo Lamers, and Mary and Darlene Rohm; 2 brothers-in-law: Joe and Roger Bolwerk. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Grant and Doris Rohm; 2 brothers: Dean and Dale Rohm; 1 sister: Verda Maynard; 6 brothers-in-law: Melvin Maynard; Willard, Ted, Jim, and Clair Bolwerk, and Bill Van Hout; and 3 sisters-in-law: Fran, Judy, and Mary Bolwerk.
The funeral service for Carmen will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church, 3600 N Chippewa St., Appleton with Pastor Larry Creamer officiating.
