Blanche Broehm Obituary

Blanche M. Broehm, 93, of Appleton, Wisconsin, was called to the loving arms of the Lord on March 31, 2025, at Frontida Memory Care in Kimberly. She was born on September 13, 1931, in St. Anna, Wisconsin, to the late Peter and Anna (Steffes) Brandt. Blanche was baptized into Christ on September 27, 1931.

She graduated from New Holstein High School in June 1949 and attended business school in Milwaukee, after which she worked for a local attorney. On September 3, 1955, Blanche married the love of her life, William Broehm, at St. Anna Catholic Church. She continued her career in Kansas City and California as her husband pursued his education. The couple later moved to Dallas, Texas, where they started their family, before returning to Wisconsin.

Blanche worked at Manpower and held various positions in the business field, including managing the bakery of a local store. She and her husband later purchased Driver's Education of the Fox Cities, where she actively assisted in the business operations until their retirement in 2002.

Blanche lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication. In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Bethesda Thrift Shop, traveling (though she avoided airplanes), and relishing her passions for music, reading, bowling, dancing, and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by:  Her husband of 69 years, Bill; her children, Douglas (Yolanda), Brent (Mary Lee), Ann Krause (Dave), Jon, and Robert (Kelly); her grandchildren, Aaron Broehm (Heather), Adam Krause (Meghan), Katie Jacobson (Collin), Naomi Broehm, and Ian Broehm; and her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Jeffrey Jacobson, Maverick Anderson Krause, and Olivia K. Jacobson. Blanche is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Nathan Alexander Broehm; two granddaughters, Rachel Marie and Christina Hope Broehm; her brother, Lester Brandt, and sister-in-law, (Sally); her sister, Lucy Heus, and brother-in-law, (Eddie); and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Elroy (Ruby), Harland (Diane), and Donald Broehm.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held for Blanche at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church (222 E. Fremont St., Appleton). Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
