Betty Weyenberg Obituary

Betty M. (Reinke) Weyenberg, 87, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021, after a lengthy battle with dementia. We celebrate for her, as she is finally free to enjoy an eternity with her lord.

Betty was born to Lawrence and Germaine (Stammer) Reinke, on August 19, 1933, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She married her childhood sweetheart, Rollin Weyenberg, in September of 1957, and they enjoyed 31 years together before his passing in 1987.

Betty was proud of her 40 year career at Pierce Manufacturing. Her dedication, organization and work ethic allowed her to work her way up from a clerk position to become the Executive Secretary to the President. After her retirement in 1996, she enjoyed traveling, volunteering and spending time with her family.

Betty was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and loved singing in the church choir. She had a passion for music and even into the later stages of her illness, she would recognize and sing along to her favorite songs.

She was surrounded by love at the time of her passing, and gently transitioned into the caring arms of her Lord. Betty was gladly welcomed Home by her beloved late husband, Rollin, as well as her parents, Lawrence and Germaine; a brother, Richard Reinke; a sister, Jean Kilishek; and numerous relatives and friends who have gone Home before her. Betty is survived by her sister, Mary Panzenhagen; her brother, Larry (Sue) Reinke and many nieces and nephews.

For the last several years of her life, Betty resided at Touchmark Senior Living in Appleton. Our family is extremely grateful for the extraordinary care they provided for her as well as the compassionate care given by Heartland Hospice during her final months.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette Street, Appleton, on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 5pm.  Visitation will be at the church from 4pm until the 5pm service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/wi)
