Bernice Helen Uhlenbrauck passed away April 13, 2021 at the age of 95. Bernice was born on May 8th, 1925 to Emil and Helena (Sievert) Jens, the youngest of twelve children.
Bernice graduated from Appleton High School class of 1943. She married Willis Uhlenbrauck on January 26, 1946. Bernice was a home maker and part time bookkeeper while the kids were young, working various bookkeeping positions.
Willis’ career with Cenex led them to various cities and towns throughout Wisconsin. Bernice and Willis loved to travel together and enjoyed dancing to Polka Bands on the weekends. Bernice was an active volunteer in each community she lived. Hobbies include quilting, gardening, and dancing. She also enjoyed solitaire.
Bernice is survived by daughter Bette (Roger) Hoytink, son William (Robin) Uhlenbrauck, daughter-in-law Paula Uhlenbrauck; grandchildren Todd (Nicole) Hoytink, Ryan (Heather) Hoytink, Rachel (Brandon) Bertsinger, Trisha (Dan) Davies; great-grandchildren Joel, Grace, Lily, Alexandra and Graham Hoytink; Benjamin and William Bertsinger; Aiden and Isaac Davies.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Willis, son Robert, her siblings: Walter, Elmer, Lawrence, Wilmer, Gilbert, William, Ruth, Luella, Alice, Emma, Estelle, and her parents.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at Valley Funeral Home in Appleton, with Pastor James Heroux of Freedom Moravian Church officiating. Visitation will be 1-3pm with service beginning at 3pm. Masks required. Service will be live streamed on the Valley Funeral Home Facebook page https://fb.me/valleyfh.
