Amy Mae (Olson) Martin

Amy M. Martin, age 60, of Appleton passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2025 with her family at her side.  She was born on June 13, 1965 in Beloit, Wisconsin daughter of the late Clarion "Olie" and Jeannette (Disch) Olson.  Amy graduated from Turner High School in Beloit in 1983 and furthered her education at Cardinal Stritch University where she earned an Associate's Degree. On February 28, 1998, she married Daniel Martin, and with that union, her heart grew to include his two daughters, Laura and Brittney Martin, whom she loved as her own. They were blessed with 27 years of marriage.

Amy was employed by ThedaCare for 25 years, working her way up to an Executive Assistant position.  She enjoyed watching NASCAR races with Dan, wine tastings, getting together with her friends, and adored time spent with her family and her grandchildren. She had a heart for service and found great joy in volunteering with Via de Cristo, where she formed lifelong friendships and deepened her faith through serving others. Her loving, faithful, and selfless spirit will be missed, but forever cherished by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dan; her step daughters: Laura (Eric) Koehnke, Brittney (Eric) Voigt; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Korbin, Owen, Myles; sister, Barb Melaas; and her dog, Joey.  In addition to her parents, Amy was preceded in death by her brother, David Olson.

A Memorial Service for Amy will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME (2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton) with Rev. Shelly Klemp officiating.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to thank the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially her nurse Tina Christiansen and Chaplain Sam; along with all of those who sent well-wishes and love through Amy's illness.
