Abdul Abdelazim Ka’Bah (Sylvester Gibson)
March 21, 1952 – March 16, 2025
On the evening of March 16, 2025 Abdul Azim Ka’Bah passed away peacefully due to kidney, heart & liver failure at Edenbrook Facility of Appleton, Wisconsin at the age of 72 years old.
Abdul Azim was born in Chicago, Illinois to the parents of Willie Gibson Sr. and Marie (Brown) Gibson. He worked as a sanitation worker in Chicago, Illinois until injured and disabled.
Living in Wisconsin for six years he was introduced to Sister V. Asiyah H. Parker (Asiyah Ka’Bah). Abdul and V. Asiyah were married for 9 years until his demise.
He is survived by his wife V. Asiyah, two daughters, Sanferma Gibson Sims (Rashaud) of Montgomery, Alabama; Latoya Gibson of Appleton, Wisconsin; one son, Vernon Webster Gibson of Kansas City. Abdul Azim is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grand children.
Abdul Azim is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Gibson, Gwendolyn Gibson, and two brothers, Edward Gibson and Willie “Gib” Gibson Jr.
Abdul Azim will be greatly missed by all his Muslim, brothers and their families. His family and friends he grew up with in Chicago, Illinois. Carl Pullam, Michael Daniels, Edgar Shorter, William Beach, Authur Brown, Marvin Reeves, Reginald “Reggie” Adams. If I left out anyone, it wasn’t my intentions, please forgive me.
Burial will be at Twelve Corners Cemetery; Appleton, WI
