Wilfred R. Herz

Appleton- Wilfred R. Herz, age 71, passed away on February 13, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1946 in Villach, Austria; the son of Josef and Maria (Kordesch) Herz. They came to the United States in 1952. Willie attended Appleton West High School and graduated in 1964. He was united in marriage on September 25, 1967 to Joyce Stormfeltz at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Willie worked for American Can/Graphic Packaging for over 40 years. He enjoyed soccer, skiing, ice skating, motorcycling, camping, fishing, his dogs, and most of all, his family.

Willie is loved and survived by his wife, Joyce of 50 years, son, Steve (Wendy) Herz, Wendy Daniels, and Miranda (Jenn) Andrews; five grandchildren: Emily, Elaina, Erica, Elijah, and Isaiah; his mother, Maria (Bob) Nichols, sister, Chris (Jim) Dachelet, brother-in-law, Rob Voigt, nephew, Timothy Carey, and nieces: Cindy Thompson and Jennifer Voigt. He was preceded in death by his father, Josef, sister-in-law, Linda Voigt, and nephew, Shawn Voigt. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.

Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street with Pastor Dick Schaefer officiating. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the Appleton Fire Dept. and EMS for all their care that was given to Willie.
