Virginia E. (Ginger) Marcum age 72, passed away Sunday Oct 14, 2018 with family members at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sunday August 25, 1946 to the late Vernon and Delphine (King) Loop.
Ginger grew up and raised a family in California. Later in life she ventured to Wisconsin to be with her mother’s loving family. Her family accepted and loved her with open arms as did she.
Ginger resided in Seymour at the Hillside Apartments where she made many friends for many years
Gingers comical facial expressions proved she liked a funny story and her laughter always had us laughing as well. Her favorite song was “Rainbow Connection.”
As a mother, she taught her children many things, including nature, where she would tell them what the animals would say if they could speak but in a humorous way. She taught them to love the magic in animals, plants, bees and in her paintings
She loved to read and taught her children the love of reading. They would take trips to the library where she would read stories to her children making them come alive.
She also taught her children to be self reliant and independent. Telling them when hardships occurred to take them with humor, stand with shoulders back and your head held high with a loving smile, because you could attract more bees with honey, but in her case more flies with honey.
Ginger is survived by one daughter; Lea Marcum Leomg of Washington, one son; James Allen Marcum of California, cousins: Barb Downey, Don (Jill) Miller, Joyce (Dennis) Schultz, Wayne (Jean) Miller, Randall (Mary) Miller.
Ginger was preceded in death by her mother; Delphine (King) Loop, father; Veron (Rita) Loop, brother; James Loop, and special friend Abe.
Per Ginger’s wishes, no services will take place.
