Robert John Wisneski, 87, died November 19, 2019 at his home. He was born in Appleton on October 8, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Van Der Louis) Wisneski.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Pierce and later retired from Allis-Chalmers. Bob was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Appleton, where he shared his musical gifts playing guitar during Mass. In his younger years, Bob was a skiing instructor; most recently, he could be found playing handball, tennis and working out at the YMCA and getting together with his “buddies”.
Bob is survived by his two children: son Samuel (Sandy), Ripon, and daughter Connie (Jens) Osvold, Norway; two grandchildren: Samuel II (Dawn), Brooklyn, NY; and Christopher (Nicole), Oshkosh; four great grandchildren: Mason, Connor, Malachi, and Lucas; a brother, Thomas (Janet), Appleton; and sister, Joan Schultz, Appleton. He was further preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Stelow; and brother in-law, John Schultz.
A Mass of Christian burial for Bob will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday November 26, 2019 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine St. Appleton, with Fr. Jude Egbuna officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 until 10:45 AM, with Mass to begin at 11:00 AM. Full military honors will follow. Inurnment will be later at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
