Mildred Marie Johnson

Mildred (Millie) Marie Johnson passed away on, Friday July 13, 2018 at Thedacare Medical Center in Appleton, WI at the age of 94.

Mildred was born in New Holstein, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Laura Schaar. She worked at Theda Clark in Neenah for 25 years and retired from her work. She was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed time with family, friends and church family. She also loved concerts.

Mildred was preceded in death by parents Edward and Laura Schaar, brother Carl Schaar, husband Larz Johnson, son-in law Jim McConnell (Sharon).

Mildred is survived by her daughters Paula Johnson, Sharon (Jim) McConnell and son Leif Johnson: grandchildren, Tracy Maas (Elvis), Greg Johnson (Tammy), Eric Ross (Nicole), Sean McConnell (Hailey), Teira Johnson (Gerard): great-grandchildren, Ally, Ashley, Elizabeth, Evan, Gwen, Sebastian, Aria, Zeb.

Millie loved going to church with family and friends. She loved the Lord and depended on Him. Her favorite passage in the Bible, which helped her throughout her life, was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). She was a wonderful hostess always try to serve food and refreshments. Her family fondly remembers her telling them “have more cake!” She loved picnics and get togethers with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Millie always had a big smile for everyone and blew “kisses of love” to family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at St Mary Catholic Parish, 528 Second Street Menasha, WI 54952 with Deacon Rick Dvorak officiating. Millie’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at 1pm.
