Michael F. Miller, age 80, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born on May 23, 1937 in Kaukauna the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Lambie) Miller. He graduated from Kaukauna High School. Mike proudly served our country for 12 years in the US Air Force. For 20 years Mike owned and operated Miller Concrete Construction Co. On November 23, 1993 he was united in marriage to Colleen Flanagan. They enjoyed their time together in the Northwoods, and spent many happy times at their lake house in Mercer. Mike enjoyed helping Colleen with her boutique, and was always known to have a cup of coffee in hand and a story to tell. Mike and Colleen had a wonderful life together and enjoyed traveling; some of their favorite trips were New Orleans, Ireland and Italy; as well as spending winters in Florida. He was an avid golfer, and would go with friends and his brothers-in-law frequently. He enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers. Mike was a member at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

 

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen, three children: Michael Jr. (Amy) Miller, Russell (Kelly) Miller and Carol Miller; six grandchildren: Jessica (Bob) Derks, Christina (Nathan) Howard, Jason (Kara) Miller, Becky (Adam) Salzer, Jenny (Luke) Maynard and Katrina Miller; 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, Ronald (Laverne) Miller and four brothers-in-law: Dennis (Sally) Flanagan, Brian (Karen) Flanagan, Terry Flanagan and Barry (Sue) Flanagan. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Herbert, William and Adam Miller, two sisters: Lilly Mae Gerrits and Elsie Lou Kobs; and parents-in-law, Hank and Joan Flanagan.

 

Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 North Richmond Street, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service; with Military Honors following the service. Private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bear Creek, Wisconsin.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Mary Lawrence and niece, Sarah Flanagan for all their extra care and support that was given to Mike while he was on hospice at home. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
