Michael “Mike” Franzke, 56, of Freedom, Passed away in the early morning hours of October 5, 2019. He was born September 26, 1963 to Alfred and Carol (Klitzke) in Kaukauna, WI.
Mike attended Appleton West High School and graduated in 1982. He was employed by Gulf Stream for over 30 years. He really loved his Harley, racing, and spending time in his shop (Man cave). Mike enjoyed plowing snow for family, friends, and various clients. He will always be remembered by his nicknames of “Gentle Giant” and “Big Mike” for the amazing and heart touching man he was. He will be forever loved and missed by many.
Mike is survived by his mother; Carol, 2 sisters; Lisa (Jeff), Dawn (Merle), 3 nieces; Jessica, Jackee (Tony), Ashley, 1 nephew; John, 3 great nieces; Maria, Malia, Sage, 3 great nephews; Anthony, Marcelino, Braxton, 1 godchild, Michael, 1 half brother; Rick (Deb). Further survivors include 2 aunts; Leona and Fran, special cousins; Charlene and David, our 5 Milwaukee cousins, and a ton of friends, too many to name.
Mike is preceded in death by his father; Alfred, maternal and paternal grandparents; August and Minnie Klitzke, Edwin and Martha Franzke, 2 aunts; Joan and Donna and uncles Jim and Bob.
Memorial Service for Mike will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 5:00 PM at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME 2211 N. RICHMOND ST. APPLETON, WI. with Pastor Mike Huff officiating. A visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the service to follow.
