Jean Emily (Tenaglia) Briesemeister, 86 passed away on Saturday October 19, 2019, at Touchmark Retirement Community, Appleton. Jean was born on November 5, 1932, daughter of the late Charles P. and Emily (Fidel) Tenaglia. On September 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Warren J. Briesemeister and they celebrated 54 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2009, and she missed him every day.
Jean was born and raised in Milwaukee. She was employed by Ira Milton Jones Law Offices for over 35 years before she and Warren retired to their Northwoods home in Elcho, WI. Winters were spent in Gulf Shores, Alabama where they enjoyed the mild climate in their retirement years. Jean enjoyed knitting, sewing, golfing, card games, ironing and spending time with friends and family. She also maintained a strong bond with her friends from Messmer High School throughout her entire life. Jean and Warren enjoyed traveling the world and collecting memories across the globe, they oftentimes traveled with close friends and family. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards with the wonderful friends she made at Touchmark, along with enjoying Happy Hour prior to dinner. She was a devout Catholic, and her relationship with God was always an important part of her life. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho until she moved to Touchmark in Appleton.
Jean is survived by her three children: Mike (Chris) Briesemeister, Greenville, Dan (Craig Suda) Briesemeister, Appleton, and Patrick (Lynda) Briesemeister, Rapid City, SD; seven grandchildren: Jason (Nicole) Briesemeister, Derek (Dana) Briesemeister, Catie (Ryan) Walker, Hannah (TJ) Benak, Nick Briesemeister (fiancée Laura Fritz), Ben Briesemeister, and Zack Briesemeister; Three great -grandchildren: Adilyn and Isaac Briesemeister and Felix Daniel Walker; sister, Janet (Tenaglia) Stenlund; Aunt Ida (Fidel) VanLear and other cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was further preceded in death by her sister, Josephine (Tenaglia) Feiten; her in-laws: John and Clara Briesemeister; and her brother in-law, Kenneth Briesemeister.
Memorial service for Jean will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at St. Louise Chapel located in Touchmark Retirement Community, 2601 W. Touchmark Ct., Appleton, with Deacon Dave De Young officiating. Visitation will be held in the chapel Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 until the 11:00 AM service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
