Inez Rabideau Obituary

Inez “Inie” Ann (Manderfield) Rabideau  passed away at her home with her family present on July 29, 2019. She was born on November 9, 1941, daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Schneider) Manderfield. Inie was literally raised in the bakery and loved every aspect of it. Following graduation from Appleton High School in 1960, she worked at Kimberly Clark. Inie married Richard “Duke” Rabideau in 1961 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

In 1961, Inie and Duke moved to the Chicago area where they lovingly raised their three daughters. She enjoyed being a troop leader for Girl Scouts, as well as helping in many other school activities. After the family moved to Tulsa, OK she became president of the Altar and Rosary Society and was elected to the initial parish council of newly-formed St. Bernadette's Catholic Church.

During the three years her family lived in Surrey, England, Inie continued her voluntary services with the American Wives Club, and enjoyed travels in Europe with her husband and family.

Later in Arlington Heights, IL, Inie began her in banking career and attended the University of Colorado American Institute of Banking. Concurrently, she became known as a person who couldn't say no ... her generosity touched many lives through volunteerism. Her civic involvement included serving on many boards: Northwest Cultural Council, Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Financial Advisors, Special Events Commission and United Way in Arlington Heights. Inie received the Illinois Woman of Achievement Award from the Lt. Governor, ending an illustrious career as Vice-President of Marketing at Chase Bank.

Returning to Wisconsin roots after retirement, Inie and Duke enjoyed their cottage on Sunrise Lake and relocated to Appleton. Many happy memories were shared with family, grandchildren and friends, especially at the cottage which held a very special place in her heart. With baking in her blood, she spent many, many happy hours "working" at Manderfield’s Bakery. She also volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and the Salvation Army.

Inie is survived by her loving husband Duke; three devoted daughters: Francine Rabideau, Appleton; Kimberly Franck, Arlington Heights, IL; and Diane (Eric) Anthonissen, Monflanquin, France. She is also survived by six cherished grandchildren; Grant, Dustin, Jordan, Evan, Natalie and Dawson.  Her wonderful siblings include Jerry (Dorothy) Manderfield; Dennis (Lois) Manderfield; Lory Coopman; Terri Roeder; and Marian Steffens; plus many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers-in- law; Peter Rabideau, Tom Rabideau, John (Joan) Rabideau; Mark (Bonnie) Rabideau and Mel (Judy) Rabideau. Inie was further preceded in death by Duke's parents; her in-laws: Marilyn Manderfield, Bud Coopman, Pat Rabideau, Paul Rabideau, and her niece Debbie Rabideau.
