Gerald Raymond Kono

Gerald Raymond Kono, age 76, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, in Appleton. He was the adopted son of the late Arthur and Iva (Mielkie) Kono.

Gerald served his country, in the US Army, during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed long drives, watching the news, and collecting ducks. Gerald was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Packers. He was very friendly and was known to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Gerald is survived by two sons: Brian (Angela), Spring Arbor, MI; Scott (Desiree), Markesan, WI; six grandchildren: Jared (Katie), Benjamin (Kate), Abigail, Rachel, Clareese, Destry; two great grandchildren: Josiah, Selah; two brothers: Thomas (Geraldine), Ripon, WI; Dennis (Nancy) White, Lewiston, MI; and one sister: Marigail (Lou) Stubleski, Monroe, MI.

The memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 26, 2018 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.  Family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home. Full military honors will follow.
