Francis James Carpenter, 59, of Appleton, died Wednesday December 27, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born in Appleton on March 27, 1958, son of Francis J.D. and the late Jane (Pownell) Carpenter. Francis married Anna Baldwin on June 9, 1996.
Francis served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion post #38, Appleton. Francis was very artistic; he enjoyed designing jewelry and creating pieces of jewelry with sorosis crystal. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved his classic country music.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Anna; his father Francis, Neenah; brother Claude, Eau Claire; two sisters: Joy (Kevin), CA, and RoJeana (Gerald), Wausau; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was further preceded in death by his step-mother, Nancy.
A memorial service for Francis will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday January 4, 2018, at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday morning beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Full military honors will follow.
