Eileen Ann (Lettau) Knaack

Eileen A. Knaack, age 88, passed away unexpectedly on Dec 4, 2017.

Born on April 22, 1929, in Kaukauna, WI; Eileen (Margaret) Ann Lettau was the daughter of Ernest and Pauline (Giesbers) Lettau. As a young girl, Eileen enjoyed tennis, choir, painting, going to ten cent picture shows, and life with her parents and eight siblings.  Following her Kaukauna High Class of '47 graduation, she worked for a short time at Zwickers Knitting Mill.

She met her husband, Walter J. Knaack, Jr., at a Waverly Beach roller rink. They married on July 30th, 1949 and made Neenah home for their six children.  Together they enjoyed camping, traveling the United States, boating and time with family and friends.

Eileen's personal passions were painting and gardening.  Her oils and watercolors graced the walls of her home, were gifts to friends and family, and sold in Door County, WI.

As their children grew and left the nest, Eileen began to work part time outside her home. She enjoyed helping customers select flowers and gifts during her years at Kraemer's Greenhouse of Neenah and later on, choose glitter and gold during her time at Oscars Jewelry in Neenah.

Eileen returned to school in her 50's, earning an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts from UW Fox Valley.

Eileen is survived by her six children; Michael (Susan) Knaack, Cathy (Mike) Resch, Kevin (Christine Coulthurst) Knaack, Julie (Scott) Grosskopf, Jill (Jim) Schreiner, Chris (April Spanitkow) Knaack; also fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; two brothers; Ken Lettau and James (Sharon) Lettau, and three sisters; Lois Derfus, Dorothy Batley and Jan (Gary) Knoke, and her sister-in-law, Monica Lettau.

In addition to her parents, Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, Wally, and siblings; Marion Woldt and Richard and Paul Lettau.
