David “Dave” Joseph Robinson, age 50, entered Heaven’s gates on May 7, 2018. He was born in Appleton, WI on November 25, 1967 to Margarita Schelm and Robert Robinson. He graduated Kimberly High School in 1986. He met the love of his life, Debra, working as a cook at Mary’s Restaurant. They wed on October 10, 1987 and went on to have four beautiful children, Samantha, Jaclyn, Jesse and Riley. Through those years he went to trade school and became a sheet metal journeyman. He was especially proud of his work at Lambeau Field. He eventually opened up his own business, SAJAR, named after his children. His passions included taking in stray cats, working on his Javelin, making his own recipes, listening to music, playing his guitar, and was a movie connoisseur. He was a charismatic person and was able to talk to anyone. He also enjoyed volunteering his time and talents at church, such as being on church counsel, property committee, teaching confirmation class, attending mission trips, and taking youth to the National Youth Gathering. He also volunteered with Boy Scouts. Through much of Dave’s life he struggled with Crohn’s Disease and Depression.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra (Hottenstine), daughters Samantha (Fred) Gorzelitz, Jaclyn (Lucas) Schimmelpfenning, and sons Jesse and Riley, and one grandson Harrison. He is also survived by his parents, Margarita (Carl) Schelm and Robert (EyVonne) Robinson. He left behind a sister Debbie (Ed) Fischer, one brother Richard Robinson and fiancée Diane, and close friend David Stuck, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean DeWildt, grandparents, his mother and father in law, Dorothy and Al Hottenstine and multiple other family members.
The funeral service will be held 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton with the Reverend Charles Fluegel officiating. Dave’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and uncle who cared very much for the people in his life. He will be greatly missed.
