David A. Ballering (76) of Appleton, WI, entered eternal life on September 25, 2018 surrounded by his family and his favorite, loving staff at Care Partners Country Terrace. David was a lifelong resident of Wisconsin, and grew up on the south side of Milwaukee. He attended Pulaski High School and Marquette University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1977. David was an avid businessman, having owned several small businesses in the Racine and Appleton areas. His passion for knowledge and learning were endless. He was a man that knew something about everything, and always believed that he could do whatever he set his mind to doing. He also had a love for travel, with his favorite places being Walt Disney World, the island of Maui, and the American west.
David is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kathy (Kate), and four children, Blanche (Sean) McQuitty, David A. (Amanda) Ballering II, Yvonne (Scott) Cegla, and Katie (Kevin Stenzel) Ballering, and grandchildren Jeff Ballering, Erika Skaar, Mariah Cegla, Colin McQuitty, and Ashlyn McQuitty. David loved all of his grandchildren and enjoyed “horsing around” and dispensing life advice to all.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Blanche Ballering, and brother, Jack Ballering.
Viewing will be Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, with service officiated by Chaplain Matthew Cornelius to follow at 4:30 PM.
