Crystal Sadie (Beyerstorf) Genke

Crystal Sadie Genke, 93, died Wednesday October 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 22, 1925 on the family farm in the Town of Heartland, daughter of the late Lester and Ethel (Born) Beyerstorf. Crystal married Roy Genke on December 2, 1941. Roy and Crystal celebrated 71 years of marriage together before his death on August 9, 2011.

Crystal and Roy had a family farm in the Town of Lebanon, where they raised their five children. She retired from Wire Works manufacturing after 20 years. Crystal was a member at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church, Hortonville. She had a green thumb for gardening, especially growing and caring for her flowers. Crystal loved spending time at her cottage in Shawano County, her dogs and polka dancing.  Her greatest enjoyment came from time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Crystal is survived by her three children: two daughters, Carol (Roger) Davis, New London and Janeil (Ron) Butt, Appleton, and son, Jerry Genke, Hortonville; 10 grandchildren: Kevin Genke, Rodney Davis, Laurie Buman, Jesse Buman, Ryan Buman, Jason Butt, Lindsey Butt, Josh Genke, Sheldon Genke, and Tyler Genke;  12 great grandchildren: Brandon, Tanya, Christopher, Amber, John, Liam, Taylor, Brook, Alex, Christian, Russell and Ada; 11 great-great grandchildren; a brother Gene (Mary) Beyerstorf, Pulaski; son in-law, Dennis Buman; and a sister in-law, Charlotte Beyerstorf. She was further preceded in death by her son, James; daughter, Rachel; two grandsons: Daniel and Justin; great grandson, Ronald; and a brother, Merrill.

Funeral service for Crystal will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at BETHLEHEM EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 752 E Grandview, Hortonville, with Rev. Ralph Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 until 10:45 AM, with the service to begin at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
