Conrad “Conny” Schadler, age 88, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side at ThedaCare Regional Hospital, Appleton, on Sunday May 27, 2018. He was born in South Milwaukee on March 24, 1930, the son of Karl and Beulah (Fouts) Schadler. Conny proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict in the Army. He was united in marriage on May 29, 1954 to Rosemary Haita in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children. Conny was a Staff Sergeant with Outagamie County Sheriffs for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting. He rode with the Blue Nights and loved going to flea markets and looking for antiques. Conny enjoyed going for motorcycle rides with Rosie.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie of 64 years, daughter, Barb (Tom) Jack; son, Scott (special friend, Kendra) Schadler; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Schadler; four grandchildren: Jessie (Rachel) Jack, Jamie Jack, Travis Schadler, and Michael Scheid; great-grandchildren: Gabby, Bailey, Aries, Preston, Bo and Ava; great-great-grandchild: Foster; sister-in-law, Mary Schadler; brother-in-law, John (Mary) Haita; very special friends: Donna and Bob Eggert, June and Ervin Van Camp, Loretta and Dave King. He was preceded in death by his parents: Karl (Grace) Schadler and Beulah (Al) Alverez; son, Kenny Schadler; brother, Lloyd “Skip” Schadler.
A Time of Gathering will take place on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial is being established.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at AMC, also to his daughter, Barb and grandson, Jamie, for helping assist the doctors in Conny’s care. A very special thank you to Charlie and Mike Sturm for taking care of Conny; and to Kyle Eggert for finding Grandpa in trouble and trying to save him. All of your kindnesses will never be forgotten.
