Cathryn (Cathy) (Erickson) Niedbalski

Cathryn (Cathy) Niedbalski, age 75, went into her heavenly father’s arms on July 7th, 2018 after a brief struggle with cancer.

Cathy was a lifelong Wisconsin native, born in Antigo, WI on March 30, 1943 to Eric and Elinor Erickson.  After graduating from Birnamwood High School, she started her career at Wisconsin Bell as an operator.  Her position later grew into a management role.   During this time she met David Niedbalski.  The pair got married on July 16, 1977 and shortly thereafter the couple moved to Appleton. Cathy continued her career with Wisconsin Bell until her retirement in 1994.

In her retirement, she enjoyed line dancing, playing canasta, and especially enjoyed spending time with her Red Hatter friends.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 41 years David, her son Aaron (Kara) of Murrieta CA, her daughter Erika (Matt) Moscinski of Appleton, four grandchildren: Nolan, Lydia, Avery and Kade.  Also surviving is her brother Ken (Marlene) Erickson, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Emil and Helen Niedbalski, her brother Harold (Buddy) and her sister Mary Lou Pecha. 

Having completed this stage of her journey on her way to heaven, Cathy’s family has encouraged her to go on ahead and the rest of us will catch up later. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.   A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Valley Funeral Home with a parish prayer service being held at 6:30 pm.  Burial will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Cathy’s name.

The family would like to thank Cathy’s in-home hospice nurses, particularly Mary and Lori; Cherry Meadows and Rennes Health care for all their efforts and support. 

We were also especially blessed by the love, prayers, care and outreach from our family and friends.  Your kindness will never be forgotten.
