Marvin Carl Rockteschel 80, Appleton, Loving Husband, Father and Papa passed away Saturday August 23, 2008 at his residence. He was born February 21, 1928 in Readfield to the late William and Edna (Schroeder) Rockteschel. He married Aldora Kleingarn on October 2, 1948. Marvin was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers, Local 9, as a cement finisher. He was a member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Aldora; children: Terry (Marsha) Rockteschel, Pamela (Leslie) Ponto and Jody (Brian) Strelow; five grandchildren: Michael (Rebekah) Rockteschel, Michelle (Jeffrey) Hedtke, Jason, Justin (Shauna) and Ted Strelow; four great grandchildren: Chloe and Payton Rockteschel, Lauren and Kirsten Hedtke. He is further survived by a brother, Harold (Marion) Rockteschel; sister, Carolyn Brennecke; brother-in-law, Peter (Lorraine) Schmidt; special niece and nephew: Debra (Glen) Marten and Larry Rath and numerous other special nieces and nephews, wonderful neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; special granddaughter, Samantha Ponto; a sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Norman Kleist, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, LaRue (Wilbur) Rath and parents-in-law, Elsie and Theodore Missling.
Funeral Services for Marvin will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday August 27, 2008 at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church (930 E. Florida Ave.), Appleton with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am until the time of services also at the church, Wednesday. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton following the services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for Thedacare at Home Hospice and Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church in Marvins name.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Thedacare at Home Hospice especially, nurse Susie.
