Marquardt, Jerris E. Jerry
After a long courageous battle with cancer, Jerry Marquardt, age 61, passed away on Friday February 2, 2007, in the house that he was born in. Jerry was born on December 14, 1945 in Appleton to the late Maynard and Nellie Marquardt. He was an avid Nascar Fan, enjoyed traveling and road trips to the casino. Jerry also took great pride in caring for his lawn and many trees. He worked many years at Menasha Corporation until his illness forced his retirement.
Jerry is survived by Kathy, his best friend and wife of 26 years; his daughter Kim (James) VanEperen, grandchildren: Andrew and Sarah Longworth, Little Chute; brothers, Tom (Mary) Marquardt, Appleton, Willis (Sue) Marquardt, Appleton, James (friend Jenny) Marquardt, California, Randis (Sharon) Marquardt, Appleton; sisters, Marline Cupkie, California, Lorita Kinum, Nevada, Kristina Marquardt, Massachusetts, Leanne Ocenasek (friend Tom), Arizona, Roselyn (Jack) Williams, Neenah; father-in-law Ray Peters and sister-in-law Cindy Schmidt. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and his dog, Rudy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Rod Cupkie, Jim Kinum, Jim Ocenasek and Michael Nickasch; and mother-in-law, Marge Peters.
A funeral mass for Jerry will be held at 11:30am Monday February 5, 2007 at St. Pius X (500 W. Marquette St.) with Fr. Brian Belongia officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday February 4, 2007 at Valley Funeral Home from 2-5:00pm and will be followed by a 5pm prayer service. There will also be a visitation from 10:30am until the time of the service on Monday at St. Pius X. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
