James T. Baer, 60 of Appleton died Friday September 13, 2013. He was born in Allentown PA, on September 30, 1952, son of Elmer Baer and Jean Wilkinson (nee Peters). James married Jan Lucht (nee Gehrke) on June 5, 2009.

James worked as a Clinical Therapist for 11 years, he loved his job. He enjoyed reading, working on his ancestry, and watching sports. James was an avid Packer fan. He liked hiking at High Cliff State Park. His greatest love and enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. James is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his children, Jamie (Chris) Hess, Appleton, and Adam Baer, Appleton; three step-children, Courtney (Brent) Erickson, Appleton, Ashley (Matt) Timm, Seymour, and Dan Christensen (Amy Prahl), Appleton; five grandchildren, Anna Hess, Christian Hess, Aavery Erickson-Frye, Camden Erickson, and Kyla Erickson; his parents, father, Elmer Baer, PA, and mother, Jean Wilkinson, PA; former spouse and mother of his children, Patricia Baer, Appleton; three sisters, Diane (Rusty) Frantz, PA, Amy (Jesse) Ziegler, PA, and Danette (Kevin) Roberts, PA; one brother, Tom (Chris) Baer, GA; and his dog, Flex. He was preceded in death by his step-father, William Wilkinson; and step-mother, Carol Baer. Memorial service will be 6:00 PM on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 3:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Roots hold you close. Wings set you free.
